Youth MTB (10 & Under) Route Notes
Riders can do laps for 20 mins. This route is super short and mostly grass. The riders will be in view nearly the whole loop. They will climb a grassy hill and make their way back down to complete a lap. This is a VERY simple course. Sadly, the clim out of the race venue is the only way to get to better trails and it is for the most part too difficult for the 10 & Under. We are trying to cut the hill climb in half for them this year. There are some bumps and bits and a bit of gravel, but will have lots of cheers in place of single track. Parents are allowed to ride with them as long as they sign a waiver!
ACCOMMODATIONS
The horse ring (north side of park) is where the race HQ will be. Head that way and you will find the start/finish. Parking is below at the extension office. There will be signs on how to walk/ride up to race HQ. There is a campground in the parking area of the horse ring (we used this as parking last year). Please be aware that there is NO PARKING in that lot this year.
Horse Park Rd, Hazard, KY 41701
CAMPING
X marks the spot. This is where primitive/van camping will be. It is free, however you need to email us your details about your stay. Car, tent/van camp, what days you will be there, etc. There are no formal accommodations at the site, bit there are bathrooms just down the hill. Best full size campground that will be open is at Buckhorn Lake State Park, which is 30 minutes away. The camping in Perry County Park is at full capacity being used by flood victims from the recent storms.
