Welcome, to the 2022 Sheltowee Trace Virtual Run!
April 1st - July 31st, 2022
Virtual events are a new normal for many in the running community because they offer an excellent solution for fundraising and provide lots of fun! So join in on the challenge as folks all across the USA complete the Sheltowee Trace virtually! A portion of funds from each registration will go to the Sheltowee Trace Association to help protect, preserve, and promote the ST NRT! With your registration, you will get swag, a medal, a training plan to stay on track, and an information book to read all about the Sheltowee Trace as you log your miles.
Things to know!
- This is for runners or hikers anywhere in the world! You can do your miles on trail, road, treadmill, on the beach, in your pajamas......basically, anywhere you like!
- You can track your miles manually via the log sheet provided once you register, or via apps like Strava. However, you don't have to keep a log at all. We encourage you to try and complete all 353 miles in the given timeframe. At the same time we know that sometimes things change with work, family, injuries, etc. If you do one mile or 353 you will still get all that the registration promises, swag, and of course, the cool medal.
- With every entry is provided a simple training plan from champion runner and coach, Zack Beavin. With the Beavin Endurance plan you will be able to keep up with the needed miles and build your fitness to reach the 353 mile goal before July 31st!
- This is not a competitive event, but in your circle of friends we encourage you to create goals and challenges all while holding each other accountable to reach your goals.
- A portion of every entry fee will go to the Sheltowee Trace Association to help protect, preserve, and promote the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail!
- The "Race Date(s)" are April 1st through July 31st, 2022. You have 4 months to complete the 353 miles, which averages about 20 miles per week.
- Registration opens January 10th (see further below), and closes. May 31st.
- If you sign up after the April 1st start date that is fine, you will still have all of the perks included in registration and can back-log your miles that you started with on April 1. The registration fee will be higher though, at $50

When Will I get my SWAG & Medal?
Your physical goods which include your event shirt, medal, stickers, and and additional swag you purchase will be sent out in early July so you have them at the time of the event finishing.
What happens if I can't do all 353 MIles?
No stress! It is a big goal for a lot of folks to do this many miles in this amount of time. We're still sending the medals and swag if you finish or not. If it takes you a bit longer, no problem. This is your journey and there are no DNF's for this race. Our goal is to create a fun challenge, raise funds for the STA, and create awareness about the Sheltowee Trace NRT.
How do I connect with others doing the event?
We would love for everyone to connect virtually. For that, we have created a Facebook group.
